Rain and Surface Water

Natural Challenge...

The rain and storm water running-off surfaces can generate contaminated wastewaters streams and represent a significant source of pollution of the water in the environment. Heavy traffic areas such as e.g. parking lots, roads, airports, sea and river ports, oil transshipment locations, military training grounds, as well as uncovered storage bins for scrap material, chemicals or minerals and other industrially used areas can be major contributors to these wastewater streams.

The rain and surface water carries dust particles, oil and gasoline residues, emulsions, chemicals or fertilizer into the sewage system and adds an additional pollution on municipal wastewater treatment plants as well as on streams, rivers, harbors and lakes.

 

Intelligent Solutions

In urban or industrial areas with large sealed surfaces this polluted rainstorm water must be properly collected and cleaned, before the water may flow into our water cycle or the municipal sewage treatment plant.

The innovative surface run-off water treatment technology provided by AWAS can make substantial contributions in removing pollutants.

Low-maintenance, low-cost systems developed by AWAS are based on natural fluid mechanics using a whirl separator with physical and bio-physical water cleaning characteristics.
